Outsourcing and Offshoring Philippines Podcast: Interview w/ Paul Magiatis

AAIA_wDGAAAAAQAAAAAAAAtwAAAAJGVjYTZmMDU0LTkyY2MtNDc5OS04NzM2LTA5MTI5NmZlMmY5ZQLooking for a company that offers staffing to small and medium-sized businesses? East West Enterprises is the one for you! Never heard of it yet? No problem! Read on to get to know a little more about the company.

EastWest Enterprises, or EWE, was founded by Paul Magiatis, an Australian entrepreneur with Greek roots, who prefers to be called a “protagonist”.

The company, he recalls, was born out of necessity back in the Global Financial Crises in 2007/2008. At the time, the cost of doing business in-country was too expensive and wasn’t viable at all, so EWE was created with a view to have a model where Australians could start their own businesses in a cost-efficient way. Offshoring some of the operations to Cebu was found to be an easy and viable option for everyone. Since then, businesses grew and still employs people and still feeds families in the Philippines.

Despite some misconceptions about outsourcing and offshoring where jobs are said to be taken away from one country and put to another, Paul clarifies otherwise, believing that “if small business doors start to close, everybody loses. So if we have to offshore some jobs to keep our jobs safe here, then it has to be done.”

EWE has been assisting clients that are predominantly in Australia, but has also gradually extended services to New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

EWE is a very diverse company. It is under the classification of a BPO industry, but is actually quite different than typical BPOs. Paul describes EWE as more “boutique BPO, based around more experienced and high-end Virtual Assistants.” This is particularly good for microbusinesses where outsourcing can make a massive impact on their business growth.

With regard to the Virtual Assistant experience, the process is fairly simple: Clients are matched to EWE’s Virtual Assistants, or VAs, depending on the skillset they need and the schedule they prefer. Their skill set could range from digital marketing and blogging to SEO to handling administration tasks. And, whenever training is needed, most clients train their VAs via Skype or Zoom meetings although some have actually visited the Philippines personally on a few occasions. Basically VAs at EWE help improve company efficiency and organize their client’s businesses. One business subscribed to EWE’s services in particular, enjoyed a 25% growth on their workload with the help of their VA. For a small business, 25% is massive growth, and it shows how profitable it can be to have a VA.

Interested? You should check out EastWest Enterprises! You can visit the company’s website, eastwestenterprises.com.au, or get in touch with Paul Magiatis, either on his Facebook or LinkedIn page. Most of EWE’s clients are also established through networking, so you can even attend his workshops and awareness sessions on outsourcing around Australia and establish connections.

How Virtual Assistants Can Help Grow Your Business

Having a business grow is great, but, as a business owner, it can be pretty difficult to enjoy especially if you find yourself getting busier by the minute. There are simply too many things to do that you get yourself bogged down by admin work and increasing productivity in the office now seems to be a daily struggle. Does that sound about right? If so, then outsourcing may be the solution for you. The Philippines, in particular, is known to produce outstanding Virtual Assistants which have been helping business such as those in Australia and New Zealand grow.

Here are a few ways Virtual Assistants can help your own business grow:

  • Reducing costs

Outsourcing is not a new phenomenon, as it has become a fast and growing trend in human resources over the past few years. When done properly, it can also be a great cost-saving strategy. You will find that the cost of hiring a Virtual Assistant in the Philippines is significantly less than that elsewhere, giving you the liberty to allocate your extra funds for other things, or save it, if you’d rather.

  • Improving business efficiency

Entrepreneurs who hire Virtual assistants have the goal of improving efficiency by delegating tasks you simply cannot complete – such as sending invoices, answering the phones, and responding to queries and grievances – for you to be able to focus on top priority tasks and actually work on the business instead of in it. They basically help organize your business for you, and you don’t have to worry: Virtual Assistants will most definitely have their schedules match yours.

  • Doing specialized work

Virtual Assistants can do so much more than you might think. They could be specialists, and as such, they are equipped with a specific skill set you may have been needing but never got the chance to learn yourself. Their skill set could range from digital marketing and blogging to SEO and software development. Depending on what you need, there is definitely a Virtual Assistant out there for you.

  • Becoming a partner

Virtual Assistants are more than a helping hand, they can make a huge impact to the growth of your business, regardless if you’re an SME, a start-up, a big company or a one-man team. You don’t have to worry about not having the same relationship with them as you do with in-house employees, because you can. These people are committed to help grow your business and would be willing to offer their own ideas and inputs for improvement. Working hand-in-hand with them is definitely an advantage.

Virtual Assistants continue to pave the way of revolutionizing the way businesses are being conducted, ultimately give you more time to breathe. If this has sparked your interest, EastWest Enterprises takes pride in looking for the best candidates fit for your needs.

You need to work on the business after all, not in it. Moreover, all the extra time you have left can be spent for fun and family, something you may have been neglecting for a while.

VA’s save you money.

You should know that Virtual Assistants may come from different parts of the world! You don’t have to worry about freeing up space in your now-cramped office, or giving them one if you work from home. You don’t need to provide them with a lot of equipment too, because they usually have their own or are provided in the office they stay in. You don’t need them with you 24/7! They are there for you when you need them. Moreover, Virtual Assistants are already equipped with the skill set you may have been looking for, so you don’t need to spend a lot training them unless you prefer otherwise.
